Patricia Russi, OP
February 17, 1956 – March 25, 2003
I will dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I shall live.

On Tuesday, March 25, 2003, Sister Patricia Russi died at The Ohio State
University Medical Center. Hers was a short but full life. Sr. Patricia
was born in Columbus on Feb. 17, 1956. She attended both St. Thomas Grade
School and Rosecrans High School in Zanesville. Before entering the Dominican
Congregation of St. Mary of the Springs as a candidate in 1997, she taught
at St. Thomas Aquinas School in Zanesville, OH, for ten years and was
principal there for five years. She also taught at St. Stephen School
in Columbus one year before entering the Congregation. Sister Patricia
served as Administrative Assistant to the Academic Dean at ODU in 1997-98,
ministered with the Youth in the Diocese of Columbus in 1999-2000 and
presently was principal at St. Thomas the Apostle School in Columbus.
Sister Patricia made her Profession of Vows on August 13, 2000. Sister
received her BS from ODU and her MS from Ohio State University. She presently
was on the Crisis Intervention Team for the Diocese of Columbus and served
on the Ministry Outreach Committee and the Web Committee for the Congregation
of St. Mary of the Springs.
Sister Patricia is survived by a brother David (Judy) Russi, nieces Stacey
(Joe) Dunnington and Shannon (Eric) Moore, nephews Ryan Russi and Rob
Russi. Friend Vicki (Mike) Allen, several aunts and uncles and five “terrific”great
nieces and nephews (better than great.) She will be greatly missed her
family, the faculty and students at St. Thomas the Apostle School and
by the members of the Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs.
