Sr.
Quentin Fox, OP
Diamond Jubilarian
60 years (August 14, 1945)
A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Sr. Quentin Fox was surrounded
by Dominican influences for most of her childhood and early life. Her
childhood home was near a college sponsored by the Dominican priests of
St. Joseph Province, where she often attended lectures, and for many years
she attended daily Mass in a Dominican parish. She entered the Dominican
Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs in 1943 after graduating from college
and celebrated 60 years of vowed life in 2005.
For 37 years, Sr. Quentin taught at grade schools and parishes in Michigan,
Ohio, New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Always passionate about
education and learning, she then began studies in library science. Since
1984, Sr. Quentin has shared her gifts in this field by serving her Sisters
as librarian for the Dominican Education Center, a spirituality library
located in the community’s motherhouse in Columbus. She is known
for her dedication to keeping abreast of current events and professional
developments, and she sees this as an important part of her ministry and
of being a Dominican.
In her spare time, Sr. Quentin particularly enjoys reading, scripture-sharing,
and liturgical study. She is grateful for her vocation and for religious
life, and she greatly values community, the common life, and prayer with
her Dominican Sisters.
