Diamond Jubilarian
60 years (August 14, 1945)
Sr. Michele Ryan, OP, met the Springs Dominican Sisters while attending
Dominican Academy, their high school in New York City, and joined the
congregation soon after graduation.
She spent half her 60 years in religious life criss-crossing the country,
teaching at grade schools and high schools including Holy Rosary and Bishop
Watterson in Columbus, Sacred Heart in Coshocton, and Bishop Rosecrans
in Zanesville. But, since 1974, Sr. Michele has served at one location:
Albertus Magnus College, a four-year liberal arts school in New Haven,
Connecticut, founded by the Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs.
Sr. Michele continues in her ministry at Albertus today, serving as special
assistant to the President’s Office.
