Sr. Barbara Lolli, OP
Silver Jubilarian
25 years (August 8, 1982)
Sr. Barbara Lolli this year celebrates her Silver Jubilee as a Dominican Sister of St. Mary of the Springs. Born in Hamilton, Ohio, to Patricia O'Flynn and Frank A. Lolli, Sr. Barbara attended Holy Trinity Grade School and then Bishop Fenwick High School in Middletown.
In 1976, she earned a BA from Ohio Dominican College (now University), Columbus, before entering St. Mary of the Springs and making first profession of vows in 1982. In 1997, she earned an MA in Education from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.
After teaching at the junior-high level for 17 years, Sr. Barbara began working as technology coordinator and computer teacher at Corpus Christi Grade School in Wheeling, West Virginia. She says, "Using technology to spread the Good News of God's love and peace in the midst of what seems to be a very violent time in our society is very much needed. More people are on the Internet than every before. We are called to reach out to others and show God's love."
Sr. Barbara graduated in June 2007 from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, with a Master's Degree in Educational Technology. Exploring the Dominican charism of preaching, she asks, "How can we use technology to help spread the Good News and bring the Kingdom of God to our world now?" |
