Our History

The Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs have been part of American Catholic history since their arrival in Somerset in 1830. They primarily served as educators who, following the exhortation of their founder St. Dominic, have been itinerant “preachers.” They have served in schools and parishes throughout the United States. Today they continue to occupy the land given to them in 1868 and continue to find new ways to serve God’s people.
