Albertus Magnus College

The Dominican Sisters of Saint Mary of the Springs founded Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1925. Originally begun as a residential college for women, today it is a co-educational institution of higher learning. The college now offers over thirty undergraduate and three graduate degrees, and has incorporated a variety of innovative programs to assist adult learners. The strong emphasis on the liberal arts remains, as do the Dominican traditions of scholarly inquiry, contemplation and the search for truth.

The College's ultimate goal is to give its students the education that will enable them after their college years to lead productive and gratifying lives, both professionally and personally. It seeks a combination of learning that is scholarly and humanistically enlarging with intellectual preparation that is practical in its application.

Albertus Magnus College remains faithful to the Judeo-Christian tradition and to its Catholic heritage, aware of and ready to respond to the evolving needs of its own students and of society at large.
