Health Care
"Dedicating our diverse gifts and energies to
the needs of God's people."
While
the Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs have traditionally served
as educators, there have always been sisters who were drawn to health
care. Sisters have served as doctors and nurses and learned to expand
their horizons on what healing services they might offer in the name of
Jesus. The Sisters founded and operated the St. Francis/ St George Hospital
in Cincinnati, as well served in administration and staff at the Mohun
Health Care Center.
Current Ministries in Health Care in which Dominican Sisters
are active include:
- Medical research
- Nursing
- Physical therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Massage therapy
- Podiatry
- Mental health
- Lab technician
- Medical records
- Other areas: our sisters also serve in various supportive services
and administrative capacities in the health care field
