Corporate Stance on Nuclear Disarmament

We, the Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs, Columbus, Ohio, join with Pope Benedict XVI, the Catholic Bishops of the United States, and all persons of good will, in committing ourselves to call on the United States government to abolish all nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction produced and stored in this country.

We call upon the government of the United States to lead the way with a global plan to disassemble, reduce, and eliminate all nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction.

We will work to support the immediate development, adoption, and implementation of such a plan to ensure that no new nuclear weapons or new materials to refurbish nuclear weapons be permitted to exist, and that no testing of nuclear weapons be permitted to take place. (September 2008)
