Issue: Darfur

The crisis in the western Sudanese region of Darfur continues to deteriorate. The atrocities continue and people are still dying from malnutrition and disease. According to the World Food Program and the United Nations, 3.5 million people are hungry, 2.5 million have been displace due to violence, and over 400,000 have died in Darfur during the three years of this humanitarian tragedy. The Sudanese government is not willing to have UN Peacekeepers in Darfur and continues to urge the international community to support the African Union force. The AU troops have been unable to secure the safety of the people in the region. For more information on this issue, click here.
